Merona

Sorry for the absence! Finals were crazy and work has been crazy! During my absence I haven't been doing much shopping in store or online.. but there is one place where I've been getting everything done, and that is Target. Love, love, love strolling through their aisles and filling my cart with things I do not need. But when it come to their Merona collection, sophisticated comes to mind, and I absolutely need that! For starters, they have cable cardigans in every color for about $23. Which is a definite must for me, I love my cardies, and they come in  3/4 length sleeve, perfect for the summer. They also make a great transition into fall, when it gets a little chillier you can simply wear a button up underneath. They've also got some more cardies with cute prints on them, as well as V Neck cardies.

They have great flowy tops in an array of summer colors that range from $14 to $20! Great tops that can be played up and made dressy, or played down and worn with a solid chino and some flip flops in the summer sun!

I think the best thing I've seen so far at Target would be a hott ass Salmon pencil skirt that one would probably wear to work, unfortunately I can only wear black, but this tight little number would go well with a white ruffle top and some gold accessories.
Their dresses and cover-ups are really cute as well, the fitting on their dresses is a bit tricky but I tried a very cute Teal and Navy eyelet dress on that fit me like a glove. Dresses range anywhere from $20 to $50, and Merona always has great discounts on Target's website!

Their accessories are simple and sophisticated. Enough said:

That last shoe up there, the 'Brown Croc Pump' is a gorgeous shoe, and it's comfortable! At only $25, it's a steal, and I can see myself wearing it with a black and white dress.
(This shoe is a lot lighter in person, so run over to Target and check it out for yourself!)

Merona has some pretty darn cute clutches and totes, as well as some scarves and wraps!

And my personal favorite:

Hope you all think these picks are cute, I personally love them and already own some of them! So get you little tushes over to Target and shop like a 'frugalista' (I love those commercials!)

10 Things I Cannot Live Without!

I've been seeing some fabulous bloggers out there post different bloggers "10 Things I Can't Live Without". But since my massive following of 16 bloggers won't do that for me, I will take it upon myself. I've always loved questions like "What would you rescue from a burning building...?", to "if you had to choose...?". My answers sometimes range from silly to serious. These ten things are very serious to me.

     1. To begin with, I absolutely cannot live with out Sunscreen. Living in this Florida sun can only mean one thing if I don't take care of my skin, sunspots. I Like to use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer dry touch sunblock. I use it everyday as a moisturizer underneath my makeup. It has a great light feel and it won't make my skin greasy. I always use an SPF of 30 or greater on my face, as I find it to be the most important part of my skin and would like to treat it as so. Without make up, I look like a ghost, and I'm totally fine with that!

     2. Another thing, can pretty much go hand in hand with my first item, which would be Cherry Chapstick, a classic! I love the hint of color it gives my lips, and it is a must have when you're out in the sun! Chapstick in one of my final steps when perfecting my beautiful face before I leave the house (haha!). I always exfoliate my lips and then apply Chapstick, and viola! they instantly look plumper, with a hint of color as well.

     3. The third item I can't live without would have to be my gigantic Navy Blue Longchamp. This is were every single thing I own gets sucked into a black hole. The tote is just so large that I can pretty much fit anything into it! I have used it for travel, school, overnight, and I've also folded it back up for easy storage! When it rains I even zip it up and throw it over my head!

     4. Another item I can't live without, and I'm sure most of you couldn't live without it either, would be Water. Now I'm not stingy on the brand of the water I drink, but I do prefer Smart Water. It's just the only water I can find now a days that doesn't leave me feeling even thirstier than I did before drinking it. Water can be described as one of my beauty secrets. It sounds stupid, and your mom probably must have told you a million times before, but it really helps your skin! I used to have terrible acne, and I would always drink sodas and acidic juices, but now I only drink water and tea. I think it really has shown through on my skin, and I do recommend it to all of you as a way of helping to treat skin problems, or simply wanting to keep your skin healthy.

     5. My fifth item would of course be my Blackberry Pearl. As much as I hate this tiny phone sometimes, I go crazy without it! Now, it wasn't always this way, when I first got my Blackberry it was the first smartphone I had ever had. I thought to myself how cool it was that I could go online on my phone and manage my bank account, facebook, etc. But now being in March of 2010, this is my third Blackberry Pearl. In the past year, dating back to March of 2009, I had lost this phone twice. At a college bar, the same college bar twice! Oh boy!! So here's to managing not to loose this thing these past 6 months!!

     6. My sixth item would be my MacBook! I had always been operating on Mac, but up until recently, I finally got my own MacBook :o) I find myself doing everything on this thing. I spend all of my free time on it just looking at every possible thing, and staring in awe at the marvelous colors that appear on my computer screen.

     7. The next thing I can't live without, would be my Ray Ban Wayfarers! I had a cheap pair from AE before I had gotten these babys, but the screw which held one of the legs on kept falling off until it got lost one day. I love the Wayfarer style, it frames my face perfectly!
     8. Next, I have hand sanitizer! I know it probably isn't doing me any good, and that germ killing really doesn't exist, but I love the fun little hand sanitizers from Bath and Body works. There are just so many scents to choose from! My personal favorite is the Fresh Linen scent. I keep at least one or two in my makeup bag, one on my keychain, one in my car, and one in at least 3 different bags, oh and I also have a basket of them on my desk at home!

     9. & 10. The last two thing I couldn't live without is my family :o) My Mom and Star, our (my Mom's) Schnauzer. My Mom has done everything for me in my life and I can't wait till the day where I can repay her and have her sitting all pretty pool side at some 4 star resort where she'd be sipping on a frozen (with extra salt!) Margarita, and wearing some fabulous MK shades. As for Star, well she is a little brat, but she always makes me smile!

Disclaimer:

Sorry for my lack of blogging recently! However, while I was away, I just kind of sat back and observed. I kept up with all of the people I was following, read their posts, commented on some, but I started to see a similar trend within everyone. "I am a true PREPSTER!", "I lovelovelove pink and greeeeen!", Lilly, Jack Rogers, Tory, monogrammed, Sperrys, theses are all brands and things I really like, but do they truly define me? No. I am a student, daughter, girlfriend, sister. I am not Lilly Pulitzer, or Sperrys, or Croakies, or all of these things that supposedly make me "preppy'.
It's just such an annoying word, "preppy". I love the crisp clean style that can be described as Preppy, but I would never catch myself using that word to describe myself? No. How embarrassing, and how stupid would I sound?
Don't get me wrong, I'm really not trying to offend anyone. I just think that once anyone who labels themselves as such gets called out, they shouldn't be surprised.
If you follow me because you think I am Preppy, well, thanks, I guess? Lol. I guess it's the look I'm going for, but I would love to think of myself as a funny, cute, and spunky girl :o)

A ton of free stuff!

So being the frugal little shopper I am, this past weekend I was running low on some makeup. I went over to Ulta and took advantage of their fabulous specials and offers. I had tried bareMinerals mineral makeup before and was impressed by the results. With the price being a little steep, I still agreed that it helped my skin and was worth buying. However, purchasing it each time I ran out of makeup proved to be an expensive habit. The drive over to Ulta (or places like Sephora, malls, etc.) was a pain, and the price wasn't helping either. With bareMinerals vast variety of mineral makeup prices ranging from $19 - $30, I felt that it was time for me to move back in with my love for Almay and Revlon drug store makeup (which is also fabulous of course, I am on a budget remember ;o)). Until this past weekend. I went in to Ulta for a little OPI, and ended up leaving with a heap of makeup. Their ads posted all over the store read "Spend $17.50 on any Ulta brand makeup and receive a free gift from us!" So I did just as the sign told me. Originally I was just looking for some pressed powder and a concealer stick. Then I stuck gold when I found the Ulta brand of mineral makeup! At $14 a pop I hoped it would work as well as the good stuff. Happily it did, and I recommend it to all of you! As for the free gift, It was a free goodie bag stuffer with great Ulta brand makeup!! Ranging from bronzer to blush, eyeshadows, nail polish, and makeup brushes. I was also set up to receive two free issues of InStyle! How fun!
Ulta brand mineral makeup $14

Ulta brand concealer stick $9

On another note, I won my first eBay auction yesterday! I bid on a Vera Bradley Mediterranean White Backpack. I ended up getting it for $77.95 (includes shipping, no tax at all). I am verry excited, those backpacks are typically $88 plus tax in stores! I also took an unexpected shopping trip with my mother yesterday. We went to the Nike Outlets and she bought me a pair of cute running sneakers! I also stopped by the Sperry outlet (which I had no idea existed), and (almost) got my hands on a pair of Angelfish Slip-ons. I say almost because, first off, their sizes run way smaller than I ever thought. I usually wear a bigfoot size 9, and when I tried those darn shoes on yesterday I fit into a size 7.5!! The second reason why I didn't just scoop them up was because they had a scuff on the leather and apparently they were the only pair of that size left :o( No worries, I'll get them this weekend!
